Chicago-based mezzo-soprano Alexis Peart has been praised for her “plush yet robust voice” and “incredible clarity” in performances spanning Baroque opera, the standard repertoire, and world premieres. A member of the Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago, Peart returns to the Lyric stage in the 2026/27 season as Flora (La traviata) and Mrs. Ott (Susannah), while covering the Composer and Dryade in Ariadne auf Naxos and Mrs. McLean in Susannah. Additional season highlights include her Boston Symphony Orchestra debut as Milovzor in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades (Pique Dame) and her Haymarket Opera debut as Speranza in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo. In the 2025/26 season, Peart made her Lyric Opera debut as Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) and performed the Second Image of Frida (El último sueño de Frida y Diego).

A former Jane & Steven Akin Emerging Artist with Boston Lyric Opera, Peart’s performance highlights include Arbate (Mitridate, re di Ponto), Big Stone (Eurydice), Tisbe (La Cenerentola), Mrs. Noah (Noah’s Flood), and the creation of the role of The Choreographer in The Seasons, a reimagining of Vivaldi’s music by Sarah Ruhl and Anthony Roth Costanzo in collaboration with AMOC (American Modern Opera Company). She can also be heard as Lampito in Mark Adamo’s Lysistrata on Boston Modern Orchestra Project and Odyssey Opera’s world-premiere recording, released by PENTATONE.
